Turmeric prices gained amid loss to standing crop due to excessive rains in some parts of the country.
Tamil Nadu government to procure turmeric at decent prices to help the farmers as prices have fallen to one-third of the prices a few years ago.
The reason being is that the yield in the current 2019-20 is seen higher due to favourable rains in the key producing states.
